The Buzz on "Swamp Soul"

6/12 - Johnny Horn has been busy this year. However, his involvement in several large-scale projects and shows has not kept him from recording and completing the second Junior Jackson album (still untitled) - slated to come out this fall. The album will once again feature Horn as the lead man and primary composer but early critique of the project denotes that this album seems more expansive and has more of a group feel. You can see Junior Jackson as they open for national touring blues guitarist Phillip Walker at The Triple Door on June 14th as well as the first Wednesday of every month at the Highway 99 Blues Club.

PureFire Seeking Interns

6/12 - Summer is a busy time for the music industry in general. This is very much the case for the PureFire staff as well as they embark a number of ventures. As the days get longer, the need for interns becomes more apparent. The right candidates will be chosen for four intern positions, each of which will be on a three-month contract. The internships will be non paid but could be used for college credit and is generally a good idea for aspiring musicians/record label types to bolster their resume and learn the industry.
